The Conquest of Bread is undoubtedly one of the most influential texts in Anarchist history.  It is not only a critique on the economic system of Capitalism, but a vision of a society based on the concepts of cooperation and Mutual Aid.  The name for this political philosophy is Anarcho-communism, which differs itself from State Communism because of it’s lack of a vanguard state that would supposedly lead to a classless, moneyless, stateless society.  Anarcho-communists are instead, in favor of decentralization of the state and any other forms of illegitimate hierarchy in society, that including, the entire notion of Capitalism.  These concepts may seem idealistic, but they have been implemented successfully during the Spanish Civil War, Paris Commune, Free Territory in the Ukraine, and currently the Zapatistas in Mexico.
